Welcome to

The De Raedt Lab

Pediatric Brain Tumor Biology

Our research

The ultimate goal of our lab is to develop novel successful therapies for children with brain tumors. By dissecting the fundamental processes of tumor biology and by developing relevant mouse models we have powerful tools in hand to attain this goal. In our lab we focus our efforts on three key areas:

  1. Identify and validate the importance of mutations in pHGG
  2. Understand why these mutations drive tumor formation.
  3. Do these drivers confer a Therapeutic Vulnerability?

Our location

Our lab is located at the Center for Childhood Cancer Research of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in Pennsylvania and is embedded in the UPenn Campus. CHOP is consistently ranked as one of the top Children’s Hospitals in the US. Our lab is part of the Pediatric Neuro-oncology Program of the hospital, which includes a dedicated Neurofibromatosis type I team. This integrated setting allows us to quickly translate our findings into clinical trials to better the lives of children with brain tumors.

Our team

We’re ambitious research scientists focused on solving some of the most challenging questions in cancer.

We welcome those willing to support our cause.
